This year Charity Project:  “ We share with a cupcake”  We express our gratitude to LIFE by giving this year a portion of our profit from the sale of each cupcake and from all event design services to the West Island Community Share , THE fundraising organization on which West Island Community can count on for growth, solidarity and resources, so ALL West Islanders can gain access to vital programs and services, when needed. Its purpose: To be an organization with fundraising know-how in order to help financially-strapped local community groups who help people in need, with a special eye towards long-term community development. To realize that purpose, an active group of influential citizens worked actively to bring their vision to life. These champions had the drive and know-how to quickly create a successful fundraising organization. They developed a unique funding formula to build trust with their constituents: Every donation dollar would be allocated and distributed to the community groups supported by WICS. There are presently twenty-nine (29) community groups who receive funding. cont'd
